Clay Factor has been in business since December of 2015—A team of four led by Minu—and powered by cold brews.
As a lifelong artist, Minu works with locally sourced porcelain from the west coast of the United States. Their team aims to constantly improve their craft and abilities.
To Minu, it’s all about the technical details—from how much temp allowance the clay allows, to the purity of the clay, to the chemical makeup of the materials.
Minu and her team spin each mug on a hand-wheel, then sand each one down to a smooth, matte finish. The result? A uniquely crafted piece of art, unlike any other.
“Ceramics trains you to accept what is. Sounds very zen, but sometimes the kiln misfire/overfires and you lose two weeks of work...and that's just, how it is. You fix the problem and move on. No time to waste on regrets or wishful thinking. It's on to the next always.” —Minu
"We believe that objects have the capacity to enrich our daily living experience and elevate objects to a transformative experience of space making and rituals." - Minu Oh
